Estate Agency of the Year - Times and Sunday Times Awards

2010 has been an extraordinary year for W.A. Ellis who scooped awards for both the sales and lettings arms of the business.  In the summer the lettings team won Gold for the “Best single lettings office” in the inaugural year of the Lettings Live event sponsored by The Times and Sunday Times. Described in the citation “W.A. Ellis is a truly impressive lettings agency that fully deserve thegold award” the team then went on to win the “Luxury Lettings” category and a silver in the “Customer Service” section.

Later in the year it was the turn of their colleagues in sales who matched their efforts at the awards in December when they won “Best Single Office - UK”, “Best Single Office - London” and again a silver for “Customer Services”. The judges commented “The greatest testament to WA Ellis’ service standards though is the very high number of repeat and recommendation clients and the fact that they have won significant market share and maintained their profitability duringthe downturn.

Lucy Morton Agency Leader of the Year

Across town in Mayfair at The Hilton in Park Lane the Negotiator magazine was handing out awards sponsored by digital publishers The Digital Property Group, owners of Primelocation.com, FindaProperty.co.uk and Globrix.com.

At a glittering dinner the firm were shortlisted for the “Independent Letting Agency” award but the evening was crowned by an award to managing partner Lucy Morton who received the “Agency Leader of the Year” award from the panel of industry glitterati.

“2010 has been an extremely tough year for all in agency” said Lucy Morton. “We have been extremely fortunate to have dedicated and professional staff across the firm. Our agency teams have had to graft especially hard. Sales volumes even in London have fallen back and whilst there has been a busier letting market the competition has also spotted this. Our people have always been the heart of W.A. Ellis, it is they who provide the service that our clients demand and it is they who rightly deserve the recognition that these awards so generously bestow.

“One sentence summed up what we are all trying to do” said Mrs Morton. “From mystery shop results to market share and high standards of marketing and promotion this business is well deserving of this gold award.”

Despite such flattering comments we plan to raise our game next year as undoubtedly will our competition. The real winners will be our clients whose business we value above all silverware. They will be the most important judges for the next 365 days and we look forward to winning their approval and to raising standards and expectations for our competitors.
